My head is literally in the desk right now.
her skin doesnt look at all white to me in this pic oh MY GOD JESUS
oh for fuck’s sake GUYS SHE’S NOT WHITE
THE ARTIST CHOSE TO USE A PALER THAN NORMAL PALETTE
THAT’S WHY A MAJORITY OF THE FIRE IS COMPLETELY WHITE AS OPPOSED TO BRIGHT YELLOW OR SOMETHING
i’m not even into korra but ive seen so many people bitching about this picture when she doesnt even LOOK white in it
DUDE. THIS IS NOT FUCKING WHITEWASHING.
THIS NEEDS TO FUCKING STOP BECAUSE I AM GETTING SICK OF IT.
(I’ve been mistaken for being Hispanic, when I am African American. And some people didn’t even know I was that. NOT ALL OF US “PEOPLE OF COLOR” ARE FUCKING “DARK ENOUGH” FOR YOU.)
i thought the bigger issue was when they responded and implied that people recoloring their art was worse than institutionalized racism. but from what i understand they also talked to another artists more aware about these things and stuff is okay now.
That’s not quite what they said. They got angry when they saw the recolor and said it was the worst thing that’d ever happened to them, and people jumped on that and started calling them a privileged white girl and whatnot. Then they explained that they were mostly Asian and they were talking about the worst things that had happened to them art-wise and not about life in general. So, all the people calling them spoiled and white shut up.
i didnt say that’s what was said, i said it was implied. implied from the way they blew up the recoloring issue more than why people were upset. anyway i didnt call her anything. i dont know her.
Well, the artist didn’t really imply the issue was bigger than institutional racism either. :| And I didn’t say you called her anything, I was telling you what happened.
